Sights in Raisio – Marketplace by the sea, close to nature

Located next to Naantali, Raisio offers a combination of local sights and outdoor destinations as well as versatile shopping opportunities, as the town is the marketplace for the whole Southwest Finland. Along the Turku ring road, Shopping Center Mylly, IKEA and other stores next to them offer visitors anything they need. The Raisiokeskus shopping centre, located around the Raisio market square hosts over 100 stores worth a visit.

In addition to shopping, Raisio offers many natural attractions to explore. Raisionlahti Bay is an important resting place for migratory birds, and the bay’s birdwatching tower is a great place to observe birdlife. Raisio Marina is the largest one in the region, and in addition to various boats, you can see the construction of luxury cruise ships at Meyer Shipyard opposite the marina. The best views of the shipyard are at the Playa del Raisio beach in Hahdenniemi, where you can also find a summer restaurant as well as a winter ice swimming spot and sauna. You can also have a swim in Swimming Centre Ulpukka.

Raisio Rhododendron Park near the town centre is home to almost 2000 pieces of Finnish and foreign rhododendrons. Their time of flowering can be admired in May and June, depending on the year. Art and culture destinations include the archaeology and contemporary art exhibitions of the Harkko Museum, the Raisio library, the Raisio church and the Krookila Local History Centre.
